This year the Golden Globes were as glamorous and exciting as ever. We saw Leonardo DiCaprio granted an award for his painstaking performance as a brutalised fur trapper in The Revenant. We watched the endlessly sweet animation ‘Inside Out’ receiving its just deserts. And yes, Ricky Gervais was his usual incendiary self, plucking drinks from the reach of Mel Gibson and generally adding a touch of the levity, before slumping over his podium and grumbling about the length of the proceedings.
That’s all very well and good, I hear you say, but what about the jewellery? Well, the globes certainly didn’t disappoint in that regard either. The stars emerged in glittering droves and aligned with paparazzi cameras to bring us the latest breakthroughs in the world of high fashion. We saw superlative examples of luxury necklaces and earrings accompanied by an array of tailor-made, trailing outfits.
Take a look at Jennifer Lawrence, from ‘Joy’ directed by David O. Russell, in a Chopard 18ct White Gold Choker emblazoned with a total 156.77cts worth of stunning diamonds.
Also seen illuminating the Red Carpet was Jada Pinkett Smith wearing this eye-catching pair of Van Cleef and Arpels earrings.
Then there was the talk of the show, Brie Larson, who received the Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama award for her turn in ‘Room.’ She looked especially beautiful with an understated, Deco pair of Diamond Earrings from Tiffany and Co.
A playful touch of flair arrived courtesy of Leslie Mann and her colourful Irene Neuwirth necklace, complemented by an equally colourful Monique Lhuillier dress.
Finally there was ‘Shameless’ star Emmy Rossum, trading sleeveless denim jackets and threadbare jumpers for a Van Cleef and Arpels Diamond Collar and strapless red Armani Privé dress.
